The tone of this Taurus Full Moon is telling of a time of intensity both personally and collectively as eclipse season concludes, yet the grounded and nurturing nature of this sign invites us to focus on self care practices as we traverse this astrological weather.

The cosmos are charged with the energy of the Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse, reaching fullness at 5 degrees of Taurus on October 28, 2023 at 1:24 pm PT. This is a significant lunation, marking the end of a two year long eclipse era activating the Taurus and Scorpio axis across the zodiac. The present alignment of our luminaries points to the closing out of a major chapter, encouraging us to release all that is no longer in resonance with what we are building and who we are becoming along this journey of self realization.

Tracking Your Eclipse Timeline

Although the lunar nodes moved on to occupy Aries and Libra over the summer, this final eclipse falling in fixed earth territory is offering us an opportunity to ground down and integrate the lessons learned and insights gained throughout the duration of this cycle of soul development. The first eclipse of this Taurus and Scorpio series occurred back on November 19, 2021 and three additional passes have climaxed each spring and fall since – reflect upon the last couple of years, where have your values shifted regarding themes of self love, abundance versus scarcity, boundaries, desires, pleasures, or worthiness?

The nodes of fate occupied this astrological axis last in 2012-2014, but the placements of these lunar points were reversed. There has not been a configuration similar to this current event since 2003-2004. Can you pinpoint any substantial stories that have resurfaced for review?

These spaces of our charts will not be activated again by these orbital hotspots for another 8 years, so really utilize this mystical moment to reset any patterns that you don’t wish to repeat.

Karmic Closures & Completions

Every Full Moon emphasizes a polarity as the light bodies of our solar system oppose each other, illuminating any imbalances so that we may release any expired or stagnant energies that are no longer serving us and seek a more harmonic realignment. During eclipses specifically, the north node and south node sit across the wheel from one another, symbolizing destined redirectioning, prominent beginnings and endings, contracts closing and spiritual growth.

Eclipses can play out for months – a word of advice, let the universal flow run its course. Resisting what is being called to be released will keep us in a loop, running through spirals we have outgrown rather than embodying our etheric expansion.

The Transformation of Venus

Taurus is ruled by Venus, our celestial goddess representing love, beauty, art, and aesthetics. This divine feminine archetype has been moving through massive changes this year, upgrading her belief systems surrounding self worth, standards and what she is willing to allow into her sphere after stepping into this elevated and reborn version of herself. After a lengthy retrograde in Leo over the summer, becoming the planetary host of the south node, and ruling over both of the Libra and Taurus eclipses this season, Venus is very noticeably experiencing an evolution. At the time of this Full Moon, Venus is transiting the sign of her fall, Virgo. This condition refers to the difficulty the goddess has fully shining her light in this placement due to the possibility of criticism or rejection. An energizing trine from Uranus assists in empowering our cosmic queen to implement the wisdom she has gathered. Within a matter of weeks, Venus enters Libra and gains power and dignity once again to take up the space to radiate the fullness of all that she is.

Trust Yourself & Trust The Process

Eclipses are known for stirring things up energetically, which may feel unsettling or chaotic. Give yourself extra grace and patience as we navigate the unraveling of this potent period of transformation. These times of transition guide us towards establishing a sense of self reliance, strengthening the trust we have in ourselves to overcome any obstacles that may arise along our paths. Even when our circumstances feel unstable or unpredictable, we can choose to hold the belief that we have the ability to rise to the occasion to meet whatever it is that resides in the unknown. Taurus gently invites us to remain steady and centered in the midst of any storms.

From Force To Flow

Taurus and Scorpio are both fixed signs that can be a bit inflexible or set in their ways, which may translate as clinging or grasping to outdated perspectives or narratives. In order to allow manifestations to materialize tangibly we must remain adaptable and open to surrender. Give fresh thought forms room to breathe and take shape. Clear out old energy and embrace the new. It's okay to shapeshift and become something different. Lean into the metamorphosis.

Repeat aloud that 'all is aligning in a way that best serves and supports me.'

Communicate With Mindfulness

Mercury, the planet of perception, communication and self expression, is standing in a Scorpionic conjunction with Mars, the planet of vitality, temperament and instincts. On one end of the spectrum, this combination may motivate us to speak and act on our truths in a constructive or passionate manner, while on the other end may result in aggressive or impulsive emotional outbursts. An exact opposition from our Great Benefic, Jupiter in Taurus amplifies and magnifies the outcome of this aspect either way, so allow this to be your reminder to act with integrity and speak with intention. This god of good fortune is inspiring us to take the higher route however, and wishes to bless us with resources and support through this unfolding.

Jupiter will continue to expand the vibrational signatures of this Full Moon as it retrogrades back to station direct at 5 degrees of Taurus mid-December through mid-January, echoing the influences at play here. This is all the more reason to be thoughtful with our words, actions, and auric field at this time, for there will be a continuation of this storyline in the months to come.

Conflict Within The Collective

Uranus, the planet of awakening, disruptions, rebellion and liberation has been traveling through Taurus since 2018 which has been radically rattling the earthly realms and erratically rocking our societal foundations. Throughout the duration of this Taurus/Scorpio eclipse series, Uranus has been acting as a trigger point for sudden shocks and disturbances on a worldly scale due to its co-presence with the north node of the moon, and simultaneous sign-based opposition to the south node. This process has ultimately been shaking loose structures that are no longer supporting the overall collective, but in true Uranian fashion causing quite the upheaval.

We are amidst a phase of intensification and inflammation of conflict around the globe as a part of this rearrangement of our reality. Tensions are running high and the truth of the matter is that these are very uncertain and frightening times for many. Take a moment during this lunar transit to offer gratitude and reverence to the Earth and all of its inhabitants. We are all dwelling in

terrestrial bodies, we all breathe the same air, we are all composed of mother nature herself. We are all doing the best we can with what we have and with where we are here and now, may we extend compassion and empathy for ourselves and others as we exist alongside one another.

“Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu” – a Sanskrit prayer and peace invocation that translates to, “May all beings everywhere be happy and free”. Beaming and boosting this frequency to all.

Honoring Our Humanness

There is a quality to the astro aspects at hand that asks us to return to the simplicity of who we are at our roots, to remember how miraculous our lifetime here on Mama Gaia truly is. The moon in Taurus requests that we take good care of our physical forms, nourishing and nurturing our beings in ways that are unique to each of us. Rest, recharge, replenish, rejuvenate. Hydrate your body. Eat a nutritious meal. Stand barefoot on the ground. Let the sunshine kiss your skin.

If the cosmic climate has you feeling scattered, overwhelmed, overstimulated, or on overdrive energetically take time to tune in with your nervous system. Affix your focus to calming your senses. Let any big or loud energies pass through your field without attaching to them, coming home to your core. This is your permission slip to go heavy on the self care unapologetically.

FULL MOON RITUAL : Throat & Heart Chakra Meditation

In medical astrology, Taurus rules over the neck, throat, and jaw. Naturally, this extends to include the vishuddha (throat) chakra – an energy center within the body that signifies speaking our truth and sharing our voices with the world. As Taurus is so closely tied to Venus, the anahata (heart) chakra is also very relevant, representing our inner authenticity and capacity for unconditional love. The throat and heart are quite linked, bridging the internal to external as we speak from our chests, allowing our feelings to be known and heard. Speaking up requires a certain courage and confidence, which again stems from the heart space. This Full Moon meditation ritual invokes the harmonization of these two spinning wheels within us, allowing for us to ground in our most genuine self expression.

1. Find a quiet spot to settle into, setting your space in a way that sparks your spirit (light a candle or incense, play soothing healing frequencies, make a cup of tea, snuggle into some blankets – whatever will assist you in creating a cozy atmosphere to tap in).

2. Once you’ve arrived, take a few moments to sit or lay with the spine straight, closing the eyes and turning your attention to your breath. Inhale deeply through the nose and exhale slowly out the mouth, repeating this cycle to sync with your natural bodily rhythms. Draw your awareness into your body and attune your presence to this moment, giving yourself the gift of fully being Here. Soften into your body, releasing any held tension and easing any tightness.

3. Focusing first on the heart, envision a bright green light radiating from this space. Breathe into its brightness, watching it glow and morph. Feel into what your truest wants, needs, and desires are. Let your heart be vulnerable and genuine with its answer, removing any potential shame surrounding the visceral truth that lies within. Take as much time here as you need. If feeling called, vocally chant “YAM” to activate this energy center even more deeply.

4. Next, shift your consciousness to your throat, witnessing the luminescence of a bright blue light shimmering from this spot. Inquire within, have you been allowing yourself to honestly communicate these wants, needs, and desires? Without judgment, reflect upon any ways you may stray from expressing yourself by not clearly and totally owning what is true for you. Again, take as much time here as you need. If feeling called, vocally chant “HAM” for deeper activation.

5. And finally, use your breath to move energy up through these centers with the inhale and back down through these centers with the exhale. You might visualize a crystalline white light clearing any barriers or blockages between these chakra points as your prana (life force) cleanses and purifies. This process of light work seeks to vibrationally realign the body, mind and spirit.
